908 Devices

At 908 Devices we are building ridiculously small, and elegantly simple purpose-built tools based on remarkable mass spectrometry technology. These systems are specifically designed to bring MS capability out of centralized labs to the point of need, revolutionizing how users perform chemical analysis across a wide range of industries. Our flagship product, M908, is used by leading CBRNE organizations around the world for the fast and accurate confirmation of priority chemical threats, including chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals, and precursors. Powered by high-pressure mass spectrometry™ (HPMS), M908 is a handheld survey tool providing first responders, civilian support teams and the military with expanded capabilities for chemical detection and identification at the point of action. Weighing just 2.0kg (4.4lbs), M908 boasts an intuitive interface designed for effortless operation in full protective gear. Alerts are provided in seconds delivering immediate intelligence on high priority threats. The unique proficiency of HPMS expands the first responder tool kit adding deep chemical and precursor material confirmation capabilities beyond traditional tools. Capable of differentiating between millions of compounds, HPMS can detect trace quantities of critical threats at the parts-per-billion level. The selectivity of HPMS coupled with smart on-board analytics allows M908 to focus on detecting the most critical compounds and extreme hazards in liquid, solid, gas and vapor form without the clutter of low-threat background chemicals and with extremely low false alarm rates.
